INSTALLING TEAM SPEAK 3

The following instructions will show you how to install Team Speak 3.

TS3 can be downloaded straight from their homepage (http://www.teamspeak.com).

Once you get to their site, click the green button to the right. Review the user agreement and once you are done with that scroll all the way down and hit "I agree." As soon as you hit that button, the download box will pop up. The TS3 file is quite small so it will barely take up room on your Hard Drive. When the download is done, go ahead and install it.

Team Speak 3 is still in the BETA stages so there will still be some tweaks that they should be making in the future.

CONNECTING

For Server Admins, all you do to register a new member is right click their name, click Server Group, and click DG| Members [perm] as shown in the picture above.

Once you have fully installed TS3, open it, and Click Connection on the Top Left then Connect.

The IP/Server Address will be ts3.thedgclan.com and the Port is 8500. Your nickname NEEDS TO BE EXACTLY AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE ABOVE. Also please make sure that your name does not actually say NAME and RANK. Replace NAME with your DG name and Rank with your current Clan rank. The line that is used in front DG| and around|RANK are able to be found right above the ENTER key on your keyboard. Just hold shift and hit that key and you should get those lines. Some people do not have that key on their keyboard, in that case get someone to type out your full tags and send them to you somehow, and then just copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) the tags into you nickname. Finally, once you have connected to the DG Team Speak 3 Server an SA will register you asap.

You can also use bookmarks if you visit multiple TS Servers to save various nicknames.

CONFIGURING

Team Speak 3 has a significantly larger amount of features in it than Team Speak 2. I will show you the basic/main features. The rest you will have to play around with on your own.

First off, head over to Settings then Options to the top of your TS3. In here you will find the majority of the main Features. We will start off with Application. Under Application you will be able to edit/toggle a variety of things.

Posted Image

Design. Here you will be able to edit/toggle your Style, Theme, Icon Pack, Transparency, Channel Tree, and Tray Icon.

Posted Image

Downloads. Here you will be able to edit/toggle your Download Location (For anything you download from TS3), File Transfers Window, Pop-Ups, Simultaneous Downloads, and Simultaneous Uploads.

Posted Image

Security. Here you can edit/toggle Any Channel Passwords that you have saved. If you do not know how to save passwords, it is actually extremely easy. All you do is input a channel password and once that is done it is automatically saved. In Security you can also Use a master password, clear all URL's on exit (any urls that were sent to you on TS3 previously), and clear you Cache.

Playback. This is a very important feature to know how to use. In here you will be able to edit/toggle Profiles, Playback Mode, Playback Device, Voice Volume Adjustment, Sound Pack Volume, and Options.

Capture. Another very important feature to know how to use. Here you will be able to edit/toggle Profiles (again), Capture Mode, Capture Device, whether you use Push to Talk, Continuous Transmission (not recommended due to hotmicing), and Voice Activation, Echo Reduction, and Advanced Options.

Chat. Here you can edit/toggle History, Automatic Logs, Reloading Logs, and Misc (Show Smileys).

Posted Image

Whisper. Here you will be able to edit/toggle Whisper Permissions and Whisper Settings.

Posted Image

Hotkeys. Here you you will be able to edit/toggle all of your TS3 Hotkeys.

Posted Image

Messages. Here you you will be able to edit/toggle your Personal Message/Disconnect Message and Away Messages.

Notifications. This is another very important feature. In here you will be able to edit/toggle all notifications. If you are easily annoyed by any TS3 notifications (for example "user joined channel" and "user left channel"). You can also edit/toggle your Sound Packs and notifications that you want turned on While Your Output is Muted.

Server Admins need to make sure that they have any Notifications on that pertain to new members joining and needing help (for example unregistered members and guests).

Alright, that is all for the Settings and Options Features. Here are a few other little features.

You can now add other People to your own Buddy List. Just right click their name and hit Add as Friend.

When you right click someone you can also now Change their Volume to be louder or lower, Poke people (DO NOT ABUSE THIS), and make a complaint on someone (AGAIN DO NOT ABUSE THIS OR REPERCUSSIONS WILL FOLLOW).

At the top, Click Tools, and in there you will see a good amount of other Features you can play around with for example Contacts, Collected URL's, File Transfers, Offline Messages, Whisper List, Whisper History, ect...
